This butter has been known to alleviate a number of skin conditions such as, dry skin or scalp, healing small wounds, as well as for after sun care, scar reduction or to stop peeling skin, to name but a few.
Kora Naturals began in 2010, and was founded by Corrine Hayford-Kwatchey, following years of personal use with the product. Corrine explains that she has always used the product for herself and her family. And the benefits could be seen, including minimizing the effects of eczema and also for keeping stretch marks at bay during her pregnancy.
The humble beginnings of Kora Naturals stem from when a portion of shea butter came as a gift from relatives in Ghana one summer. It was from this point that Corrine began to develop products out of the Shea butter.
By Christmas time of that same year, the range had evolved to include lip balms and hampers packs, which proved to be the perfect present for the festive time. By this point Corrine was certain that this was the business for her.
She explains: “I always wanted to develop my own range and have recently started making body butters and hair pomade.”
Further details about the brand including the reason behind the name have been revealed as Corrine explains the meaning of Kora, being calabash in the Ghanaian Twi dialect, has long been used as a container for many substances including shea butter.
The future of the Kora Naturals brand looks set for growth as the line is preparing to expand even further to include body lotions and scrubs, as well as a variety of soaps.
